Today, I told my parents that I'm bisexual, but more interested in girls...
I've always been looking for the perfect moment to tell my parents and come out of the closet.
Well today I told them.
I was cooking food with my father when my mother comes in the kitchen and they start to talk about relationships, and asked if I was dating, and was there any guys I was interested in.
Just suddenly I opened my mouth and told them
"Mom, dad, I'm bisexual, I'm more interested in girls tho' "
(Well I don't have any problems with guys but, right now...Girls ;) )
Both of my parents faces became white as sheets and I was waiting for their respond.
My father had been talking many times about gay people and how respect he showed them because of their courage to show people their love.
Well my dad started smiling and said
"Good for you hun, if you ever get a girlfriend, just tell me, I would be happy to know that my girl is happy"
My mother was silent. When my dad had responded to me she looked at me.
"I'm surprised that you had the courage to tell us. I was surprised. I'm so proud of you" my mom said and smiled at me she started hugging me and then said "I want you to be happy, no matter what others say, be happy and know that we will always be on your side".
I was actually a little surprised that they were so happy for me.
But I'm still trying to think how to tell my friends how to tell them, well it really isn't their business but still.
I hope other ones whom is thinking of confessing to your parents will be as easy as it was to me.
Of course it takes much courage, but they say "You loved me before you knew, you will love me after you knew. It can't be a reason to start hating me"
Just take it easy, you will find the courage to confess to your parents, as I did. It took me years to find my courage to tell my feelings and to tell my parents.
